SCADA / Building Automation Developer

Position Overview

DECK Four Innovation, Inc. is seeking talented and motivated SCADA / Building Automation Developers to support a wide range of mission-critical facilities, industrial, aerospace, and advanced infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will have experience developing, programming, integrating, and supporting SCADA, HMI, Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS), PLCs, controls, and related monitoring and supervisory systems. Candidates with backgrounds in industrial automation, building controls, fire/life-safety systems, electrical controls, or intelligent building technologies are encouraged to apply.


This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment alongside multidisciplinary teams responsible for the design, integration, commissioning, and operational support of complex control and monitoring systems.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation, Information Technology, or related field preferred
  • Associate degree, technical certificate, relevant certifications, or equivalent hands-on experience considered
  • Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education for certain roles

Experience Levels

  • Entry-Level: 0–4 years of relevant experience, including internships, co-ops, or technical training
  • Mid-Level: 5–10 years of relevant SCADA, BAS, controls, automation, or software development experience
  • Senior-Level: 10+ years with demonstrated technical leadership, system architecture, programming, integration, or commissioning expertise

Required Skills

  • Experience with SCADA, HMI, BAS/BMS, PLC, or industrial/building control systems
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to develop, configure, test, and troubleshoot control logic and system interfaces
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP networking and industrial/building automation communications
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, control diagrams, sequences of operation, and technical documentation
  • Experience with technical software, programming/configuration environments, or system development tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with BACnet, Modbus, OPC/OPC UA, MQTT, SNMP, or other industrial communication protocols
  • Experience with SCADA/HMI platforms and graphical interface development
  • Experience with PLC programming and controls integration
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems and HVAC controls
  • Experience with SQL databases, scripting, APIs, or software development
  • Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, C#, SQL, or similar programming languages
  • Experience integrating fire alarm, life-safety, security, electrical, mechanical, or other facility systems
  • Experience with commissioning, system testing, troubleshooting, and field integration
  • Knowledge of OT/ICS cybersecurity and secure network architectures
  • Experience in aerospace, industrial, mission-critical, or other high-reliability environments
  • Familiarity with applicable industry standards, codes, regulatory requirements, and quality programs

Responsibilities

  • Develop, configure, and maintain SCADA, HMI, BAS/BMS, and supervisory control applications
  • Develop system graphics, dashboards, alarms, trends, reports, schedules, and operator interfaces
  • Program and configure controllers, PLCs, gateways, and associated field devices
  • Integrate systems using industry-standard communication protocols
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, communications, and control-system issues
  • Support system testing, commissioning, integration, and operational readiness activities
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, sequences of operation, and system requirements
  • Develop technical documentation, system backups, configuration records, and as-built documentation
  • Work with engineers, technicians, IT personnel, project managers, and customers to resolve technical issues
  • Support existing systems as well as upgrades, expansions, migrations, and new system deployments
  • Participate in on-site commissioning and troubleshooting activities as required

We are hiring Engineers, Software Developers, IT Specialists, Technicians, and Drafters to contribute to the design, analysis, integration, and support of spacecraft, launch infrastructure, and ground support equipment.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment alongside multidisciplinary teams to ensure mission success and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

Education (Varies by Role)

  • Engineers / Developers: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited institution preferred
  • Technicians / Drafters / IT Roles: 
    • Technical certificate, associate degree, relevant certifications, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education for certain roles
