3rd Shift Readiness Coordinator Associate

Job Description

Readiness Professionals are responsible for obtaining, delivering, and kitting/staging usable parts, materials, commodities, and certain types of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) identified in Solumina and Maximo WADS. These activities support specific operational areas to ensure technicians can complete scheduled work efficiently and on time.

Scheduled work includes flight operations, preventative maintenance, testing and checkout, modifications, and repairs. The role involves reviewing Maximo and Solumina systems to verify parts and materials are properly loaded to new Work Authorization Documents (WADs) and processing them accordingly.

This position requires proactive identification and resolution of potential issues such as material shortages, estimated delivery dates (EDDs), substitutions, and procurement concerns in coordination with Logistics Customer Support Representatives (CSR) and Engineering. The Readiness Professional is also responsible for signing for, picking up, and delivering parts and materials from Logistics MSC as needed.

Candidates should possess a working knowledge of Solumina, Maximo, and PeopleSoft and be capable of operating in a dynamic, mission-critical environment. The 3rd Shift Readiness Chief must be able to make independent decisions during off-shift hours, maintain situational awareness, and ensure clear and accurate shift handovers.

Education

  • Associate’s Degree (AS or AA) in a technical discipline OR
  • Approved Technical Certificate
  • A High School Diploma with additional relevant experience may be considered in alignment with internal readiness standards

Experience & Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting readiness, operations, test conduct, launch processing, configuration control, or similar mission-critical aerospace environments
  • Experience with real-time operational oversight, including multi-shift or continuous operations environments
  • Proven ability in: 
    • Issue identification and escalation
    • Coordination with engineering, logistics, quality, and operations teams
    • Managing shortages, substitutions, and procurement challenges
  • Familiarity with: 
    • Hazardous operations and safety protocols
    • Emergency procedures
    • Work authorization documentation (WADs)
    • Technical directives and configuration verification practices
  • Strong technical comprehension and ability to interpret: 
    • Readiness documentation
    • Schedules and operational logs
  • Proficiency with NASA and/or contractor digital tools and systems (e.g., Solumina, Maximo, PeopleSoft)
  • Ability to make independent decisions in high-tempo environments
  • Strong communication skills for accurate shift turnover and reporting

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Ability to obtain and maintain NASA/KSC certifications and access credentials
  • Completion of required hazardous operations and safety training
  • Ability to work overnight/3rd shift across multiple facilities
  • Physical capability to perform job duties in operational environments

Position Overview

Seeking talented and motivated professionals across multiple disciplines to support a wide range of aerospace and space system projects. We are hiring Engineers, Software Developers, IT Specialists, Technicians, and Drafters to contribute to the design, analysis, integration, and support of spacecraft, launch infrastructure, and ground support equipment.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment alongside multidisciplinary teams to ensure mission success and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

Education (Varies by Role)

  • Engineers / Developers: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited institution preferred
  • Technicians / Drafters / IT Roles: 
    • Technical certificate, associate degree, relevant certifications, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education for certain roles

Experience Levels

  • Entry-Level:  0–4 years (internships or co-ops applicable)
  • Mid-Level:     5–10 years of relevant experience
  • Senior-Level:10+ years with demonstrated leadership or advanced technical expertise

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with industry standards and technical requirements
  • Experience with CAD tools or other technical software (role-dependent)

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in aerospace or space system environments
